  9. STARLINK is an asynchronous outdial service that
  10. permits you to make off-peak calls to thousands of
  11. Bulletin Board Systems in 91 cities in 28 states
  12. for only [ $1.50 ]  per hour ** of connect time.

  14. There is a one time sign up charge of $25.00 and
  15. a monthly service charge of $10.00 to cover
  16. administration and billing services. High Volume
  17. users can elect to pay  $25 per month plus [$1.00 ]
  18. per hour used.

  20. There is no charge for kilo characters transmitted.

  22. I am now using the service and I can tell you that connection
  23. to the remote outdial modem is instaneous, and you do not 
  24. have to initialize the modem... Just give a simple DIAL
  25. command.  The lines seem to be very clean.  Operation is
  26. quick and positive.  IT is impressive.

  42. Starlink buys time from Tymnet and resells it to individuals.

  44. Currently Tymnet is evaluating whether to get into the business
  45. or not.  They have done a survey, and are still interested in
  46. hearing from potential users.
